Have you heard about Chemical Peeling

Chemical peeling is a cosmetic procedure which consist of applying a series of different medicines over face or any body area ,which eventually results in several different therepeutic effects.
Different chemicals are used for this procedure like alpha hydroxy acids [glycolic acid ,malic acid , pyruvic acid ,tarteric acid etc.] or beta hydroxy acids [salysilic acid etc.]
These chemical have different mode of action ,they break down the upper layers of skin [epidermis] to peel off the layer, this brings fairness ,removes tanning ,pimple spots etc.
They also promote new collegen [skin protein] formation giving a fullness effect and removing fine lines and wrinkles.

if you are having pimples ,oily skin ,black heads or if you have pigmentation problems ,fine lines ,wrinkles then chemical peeling is the right treatment choice for you .

ultraviolet therapy chambers

FOR several diseases ultraviolet light is very useful ,here in Dr Telang's Skin Hospital we are using this mainly for vitiligo(leukoderma) ,results are very encouraging ,it takes only 2 to 3 minutes to complete the therapy session ,on the other hand patients on conventional therapy have to expose to sunlight for an hour to get the similar response.
we are using 24 NBUVB whole body chamber ,which is the latest in this series.

we are also doing a clinical study on patients of psoriasis to see the effect of narrow band ultraviolet light.

what is IPL

At Dr. Telang's skin clinic we are using several latest technology devices.

Intensive Pulse Light Laser is the latest technology that uses the amplified light to focus on target molecules in skin . Most common use of this device is to remove unwanted hair permanently.

Light at 1064nm wavelength is absorbed by melanin which is present in abundance in hair follicles ,when melanin gets heated , it burns surrounding stem cells that are responsible for making of new hair. Thus this indirect heating effect kills hair forming cells and permanent hair reduction is acheived.

Another use of IPL is collegen induction and skin tightening. high intensity light waves stimulates skin protein collegen formation ,so it gives a fullness to the skin ,it removes fine lines and wrinkles and tightens the skin to impart an overall youthfull texural apperence.

IPL is also used to treat treatment resistent pimples cases , Bacteria in oily glands over face make porfirin a light absorbing pigment . Light at 550nm wavelenth is absorbed by this pigment which is inside these bacteria. When this pigment is heated it kills the bacteria and thus fastens the healing process.

dermatology

skin is the largest organ of our body and in my opinion each and every person sometime in his life encounters in his life any minor or major skin problem.
it can be small skin infection like boils or pimples or fungal itch or it can be major skin disease.
we would discuss problems and solutions related to skin in upcoming blogs
